Spring Lake Nature Center to Host 2nd Annual Roots & Wings Festival July 11
Spring Lake Nature Center will host its 2nd Annual Roots & Wings Festival on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spring Lake Park in Williston. The free, family-friendly event will bring together nature, science, conservation, agriculture, and outdoor recreation organizations from across North Dakota for a day of hands-on learning and community fun. The festival builds on the success of its inaugural event, which attracted more than 1,000 attendees from 39 ZIP codes across the region and helped establish Roots & Wings as one of western North Dakota's emerging summer traditions. Visitors will enjoy interactive exhibits, scavenger hunts, educational displays, wildlife and conservation activities, family programming, a free-will donation barbecue, Suzie Q's Ice Cream, and opportunities to meet experts and organizations dedicated to North Dakota's natural resources and outdoor heritage. Expected exhibitors include Lewis & Clark State Park, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pheasants Forever, the Paul Broste Rock Museum, and numerous additional organizations focused on science, wildlife, geology, conservation, and outdoor recreation.
