Timeless Traditions: Corn Husk Dolls

Join us for the Timeless Traditions: Corn Husk Dolls workshop at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center near Williston on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. This engaging and free program is suitable for ages 8 and up and focuses on the artistry behind creating traditional corn husk dolls. Participants will explore the history and significance of these handmade toys, originally crafted from dried corn husks and other simple materials, reflecting how people utilized readily available resources. Throughout this hands-on session, attendees will receive a demonstration and then have the opportunity to create their own corn husk doll to take home. This monthly workshop, part of the ND250 commemoration for our nation's 250th birthday, encourages creativity and learning for families and beginner adults alike. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Come discover a piece of North American heritage while having fun!
