Explore the forces that shaped North Dakota’s landscape during “Geology at the Confluence” on Saturday, Nov. 28, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center near Williston. The free, family-friendly event offers opportunities to touch, build, and explore while considering how ice age forces and long-extinct animals helped shape the environment we see today. Learn how ice, rivers, and millions of years of geological history shaped the landscape around the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence. Through interactive stations, experiment with glacier simulations to see how moving ice carved the region, examine real fossils from North Dakota, and create your own fossil molds to take home. This event is part of the ND250 commemoration celebrating our country’s 250th birthday.
