Discover summer fun at Fort Mandan State Historic Site, Washburn. Enjoy free interactive learning programs for all ages. Learn new skills and create hands-on projects centered on the themes of survival in August, and agriculture and ecology in September. Programs are offered at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.

Aug 17-21, But Did You Survive? Let’s play a game of survival. As you embark on your journey of westward expansion, learn about the medicine of the expedition.

Upcoming Programs:

Aug 22-23, Flint & Steel Racing. Learn about the fire-starting process of using flint and steel. Once you have mastered the task of creating a spark, test your skills in a fire-starting race!

Aug 24-28, But Did You Survive? Let’s play a game of survival. As you embark on your journey of westward expansion, learn about the medicine of the expedition.

Aug 29-30, Ice Water Challenge. Being a fur trader puts you in extreme situations. How long can you last?

These programs are part of the ND250 commemoration celebrating our country’s 250th birthday.
