Walcott Area Veterans Memorial
The Walcott Area Veterans Memorial is located at the Walcott Cemetery in Walcott ND and also exists alongside the North Country Hiking Trail to the west. The Veterans Memorial pays tribute to more than 300 Northern Richland County service men and women who served our country in the Armed Forces. These Veterans are buried in one of 10 Richland County Cemeteries which include: Eagle, Christine, South Pleasant, Pioneer, Hemnes, So. Pleasant/Christine (AKA Lium), Viking, Zion, Richland and Walcott ND. In addition, the Memorial pays tribute to the Walcott American Legion Auxiliary, Mothers and daughters who supported their loved ones while they served our country. Visitors will see a reflection of themselves in the names on the black granite walls, connecting the living to those lost. It serves as a historical touchstone - linking the past to the present and enabling people to remember and respect the sacrifice of those who died, fought, participated or were affected by conflicts.
