North Forest and Big Hidatsa Trail

The Big Hidatsa Trail can be accessed by starting on the North Forest Trail and taking a left at the first trail junction. At the trail's end, you'll come to the site and remains of an ancient Hidatsa Village. This spot is called the Big Hidatsa Site by the National Park Service and was home to the largest Hidatsa community near the Knife River.
