A beautiful, large US Army Corps of Engineers campground on the Missouri River below Garrison Dam and Lake Sakakawea. The campground has four spacious loops with paved roads and campsite pads. Reservations can be made online at www.recreation.gov or by calling toll-free number 1-877-444-6777. The season runs May 15 - September 15, but they do allow for primitive camping in Loop 4 free of charge in the off-season, but no amenities are offered. Please practice pack it in, pack it out techniques. You can also call 701-654-7440 for information general information during the summer season.
The campground has a total of 117 tent/RV sites, 101 with electric, newer shower buildings, sewer, restrooms, picnic shelters, grills, drinking water, playgrounds, hiking trails, and a trout pond. Very popular campground with great access for fishing the well-known Tailrace below the Garrison Dam where 6 state record fish have been caught.
