Dakota Territory Air Museum

Home to one of the largest collections of airworthy World War II aircraft in the Upper Midwest, the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot features approximately 60 aircraft on display—many of them still flyable. Notable warbirds include the rare Hawker Hurricane, P-47D Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, and Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX, along with a full-scale replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer. The collection spans from WWI to the Vietnam era and includes both military and civilian aircraft from the 1900s through the 1980s.

Beyond aircraft, the museum houses over 15,000 artifacts, including historic photographs, periodicals, flight gear, and aviation equipment. Visitors can explore four expansive hangars, outdoor static displays, and interactive exhibits designed for all ages. The Bruce Eames Warbird Collection—one of the most complete flying WWII collections in the U.S.—is a major highlight. Located just minutes from Minot International Airport, it’s an ideal stop for families, history lovers, and aviation enthusiasts.

Open seasonally from mid-May through mid-October.
