Menoken Indian Village was established about 800 years ago on a quiet wooded spot beside Apple Creek. The village was built just as farming first began to arrive in this region. This Agricultural Revolution brought changes as great as the later Industrial Revolution, and archaeologists continue to look for clues to how these changes affected the villagers at Menoken.
Interpretive signs throughout the site, located 10 miles east of Bismarck on the north side of Interstate 94, provide a walking tour of the village.
