Join us for "Nights at the Round Table," a series of informal group discussions held at the West end of Mildred M. Furlong Memorial Public Library. This fall, we explore the theme "William Henry Harrison: The Power of Presidential Storytelling," facilitated by Nikhil Kalothia. Each session, scheduled for Thursdays on September 24th, October 15th, and November 19th, will begin with an engaging video or audio presentation featuring civic educator Sharon McMahon in conversation with Dr. Colleen Shogan. They will delve into the lessons from Harrison's short presidency and his lengthy inaugural address, focusing on American democracy's foundations and the critical importance of a nation governed by laws rather than individuals. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts and engage in meaningful dialogue, respecting the "7 Knightly Virtues" of courage, justice, community, wisdom, integrity, hope, and determination. Everyone is welcome to join this enriching experience, regardless of background or expertise, as we foster curiosity and community-driven learning in the spirit of the statewide Study Club initiative.
