Myra Arboretum
This wonderful hidden gem is situated in the Larimore Dam Recreation Area. There's a $5.00 entrance fee for the park before you reach the Arboretum (Garden). Parking and washrooms are available just before the “Myra Arboretum” roundabout.
The trail is mostly paved and fenced. The diverse collection of fruits and berries including apples, apricots, buffalo berry, barberry, crabapple, cherry, honeysuckle, pears, plum, and a lot of others are phenomenal work done for scientific and educational purposes. Some other notable trees are different kinds of pine, oak, maple, poplar, lilac, birch, elm, spruce, and nut trees. A lot of them are plated with their names.
Most of the trees are loaded with fruits though birds have taken full advantage of some of the berries. A beautiful gazebo and some benches are anxiously waiting to serve the visitors. In some parts, the tree branches have taken over the paved path.
Accessibility: Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility equipment, or strollers may need all-terrain tires or adaptive/motorized equipment for the surface type and grade in the unpaved section. The most accessible portion of the trail is the paved portion in the southern loop.
