This trail offers a great opportunity to observe a lot of prairie dogs in their natural habitat, set against a stunning backdrop. The trail is flat and exposed with some parts overgrown, so pants are recommended. Please be advised that bison are present in this area. Caprock Coulee Trailhead has a good-sized parking lot with a restroom.
