Join the staff at Fort Totten State Historic Site in June for unforgettable experiences that bring the past to life and inspire new connections. Enjoy the thrill of soaring kites, learn the tradition of tipi building, and uncover the stories of your ancestors in these free programs.
June 7 The Sky Is the Limit! 1-3 p.m. In this family-friendly program, put your creativity and skills to work making and testing your own kite.
June 14 Tipi Teachings, 1-3 p.m. Bring your family to discover the history of the tipi, its cultural significance, and learn the steps to set one up. Children can design and decorate a tipi-themed craft to take home.
June 21 Ancestors and Family History, 1-2 p.m. Fort Totten has an extensive history ranging from its military days to its time as a boarding school. In this hands-on session geared toward adults, learn how to map your own family tree and discover valuable resources to help trace your ancestry.

Summer hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily May 24 through Labor Day. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for youth. The site grounds are open year-round.
