Displays include historical artifacts of American Indians and early settlers. The museum is only open on July 4th and is currently unavailable for appointments. However, please note that the Prairie Life Monument is available to view 24-7.

The Prairie Life Monument is available to view 24-7 without a fee. The bricks were purchased by individuals, families, organizations, and businesses displaying their name dates & etc. The plaques represent the community from 1905 when it was established to today. There are stone benches, a picnic table (guests are responsible for their trash) and there is a park a block north of the monument with a small playground, picnic shelter, and modern bathrooms without showers. On the granite plaque in the center, is a map of surrounding communities, dates they were established, and historic sites from Whitestone Hill Battlefield Historical site to Elm Lake Resort, SD (605-358-8511) camping, and recreation. Locally there is also Elm Lake Lodge (605-358-8664) and DACHA Bed and Breakfast (605-358-8851).

There is an agreement with the ND Game and Fish for 10 acres of virgin prairies, rich in history with public access for hiking called Johnson's Gulch...It carries all of the regulations for other ND Game and Fish public access areas. Located at the edge of the beautiful Coteau Hills it offers a beautiful view and opportunity to enjoy the rolling prairie hills. In wet weather, the access road may be difficult especially for low vehicles. Visitors are responsible for their garbage and there are no restrooms available.
