UP & Coming Fest

UP & Coming Fest is a one-day, family-friendly music festival in Fargo, North Dakota, featuring 13 local bands, local art vendors, and a laid-back, indie-inspired atmosphere. Happening August 29, 2026, the festival runs from 11:00 AM (doors) with music starting at 11:30 AM and continuing through a full day of performances until 10:00 PM. Intentionally capped at around 750 attendees, the festival is designed to feel more connected, more personal, and rooted in community.

Presented by Simply Strangers—an emerging band made up of musicians who are passionate about building relationships within the local music community—the festival was created from a genuine love for the local music scene and the impact music can have on people’s lives. Music has been a meaningful outlet and source of connection for Simply Strangers, and UP & Coming Fest is a way to give that same experience back to the community while creating space for other artists to be seen and heard.

The festival brings together musicians, small businesses, and music lovers for a day that feels authentic to Fargo’s growing creative culture. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Excite Music, a nonprofit that provides music scholarships to disadvantaged youth—many of whom are part of programs like Elevate Rock School, one of the 13 featured bands.
