First International Peace Powwow and Peace Conference

Sponsored by the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, the First International Peace Powwow takes place July 4, 2026 in Dunseith, in conjunction with the Chief Little Shell Powwow and the grand opening of the 4-million dollar powwow arbor. There will be activities throughout the week and the First International Indigenous Peace Conference will take place July 11, 2026 at the International Peace Garden.

The event is a component of a larger tourism initiative for the region.
