Wildwood Trail

The Wildwood Trailhead is located near the historic Gunlogson barn and connects to the Shady Springs Trail, eventually leading to the bridge that spans the Tongue River and links with the Basswood Trail. As an interpretive path through North Dakota’s first designated nature preserve, this trail offers scenic footbridges, views of springs and streams, and opportunities to observe native plants such as scouring rush and various ferns. Interpretive brochures are available at the trailhead or the Pioneer Heritage Center.
