Pioneer Trails Regional Museum
Get In Contact
Since 1992, Pioneer Trials Regional Museum has worked to research, document and display the natural and cultural history of the region. The museum is a major cultural center for Bowman and the surrounding area, showcasing the rich history of the region, as well as local artistic talents, and traveling displays.
Visit the museum to see a full-size triceratops and fossil prep lab in our Paleontology Gallery, a reconstructed portion of the sod wall built at the Battle of Fort Dilts during the Plains Indian Wars in the Native American exhibit and a replica tar paper shack in the Local History displays. Visitors can also explore the museum grounds and imagine homesteading on the rugged landscape of southwestern North Dakota by stepping into the reconstructed sod house or visiting the Union Prairie Church, a country church on museum grounds.
