The trail starts at the main parking area of the West Side Trails and loops just west of Lake McDonald, near the Canada and United States border. Open to hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing, it winds through forest, grassland, and wetlands. Watch for moose, deer, pine martens, ruffed grouse, and a wide variety of vegetation along the way.
