The trail begins at the main parking area of the West Side Trails and loops just north of Lake McDonald, near the borders of Canada and the United States. It is accessible for hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing, meandering through forests, grasslands, and wetlands. Along this scenic route, which is rich in wildlife, keep an eye out for moose, white-tailed deer, pine martens, and ruffed grouse.
