The trail starts at the main parking area of the West Side Trails and loops just west of Lake McDonald, near the Canada and United States border. Open to hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing, the route winds through forest, grassland, and wetlands. Wildlife sightings may include moose, white-tailed deer, pine martens, and ruffed grouse, offering rich and varied viewing opportunities.
