A two-day indoor curling program will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, and Sunday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, Bismarck. Curling is the official state sport of North Dakota.

With all the thrill and none of the chill, indoor curling mats will be placed in the State Museum’s Northern Lights Atrium, allowing a self-paced experience to try the sport. The program coincides with the opening weekend of the Winter Olympics, making it an ideal time to learn more about curling.

This event is part of the ND250 commemoration of the United States’ 250th birthday and the regional Vinterfest, a month-long celebration of winter on the northern Plains featuring educational programs, outdoor recreation, and cultural traditions.

For more information, contact Education Outreach Supervisor Madison Milbrath, [email protected] or 701.328.2794. The ND Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Find upcoming State Historical Society of North Dakota events at history.nd.gov/events.
