Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site,

The Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site is offering free weekly activities in August to promote learning and fun for adults and children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Daycares and school groups are asked to contact the site supervisor in advance of their visits. Cookies and lemonade will be served unless otherwise noted.

Aug. 6, Dinosaur Skeletons, 2-4 p.m. Make your own dinosaur skeleton on paper.

Aug. 8, Fibers and Friends, 1-4 p.m. Fiber craft enthusiasts, bring your crochet, knitting, or preferred fiber craft projects to work on in the ambiance of the Former Governors’ Mansion. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Aug. 11, Rope Snakes, 2-4 p.m. Create a toy snake from rope.

Aug. 13, Pressed Flower Tealights, 2-4 p.m. Decorate a tealight candle with pressed flowers to illuminate your August nights.

The Former Governors’ Mansion, located at 320 E. Ave. B, Bismarck, is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Admission is free.
