5 Things to see and do at Lake Metigoshe State Park
Nestled in the scenic Turtle Mountains on the shores of Lake Metigoshe, Lake Metigoshe State Park is one of the most popular year-round vacation spots in North Dakota. Its terrain, amenities and location make it a summer and winter destination.
The Blue Heron Yurt sits in a wooded area on the edge of School Section Lake. The Hemerick Point trail system runs right to the Yurt.
Anglers will find several sizes of bluegill, including some large fish, along with some nice crappie. There is a good number of walleye with a wide range of sizes. Also, good pike fishing with some large fish.
Paddle leisurely around the lake in your our canoe or kayak, or rent them from the state park.
More than 174 birds can be observed, plus deer, moose, beaver and more.
Visitors can enjoy over 8 miles of trails open to hikers and mountain bikes.
