Burning Coal Vein Campground is the southernmost campground and trailhead along the 146 mile Maah Daah Hey Trail. This remote campground offers visitors solitude, privacy, and scenic views of the surrounding badlands, columnar juniper and ponderosa pine forest. Campground amenities include:  one vault toilet, hand pump with potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, and shaded gravel camping pads. Campsites are spacious and spread out. This campground operates under a Pack-it-In-Pack-it-Out policy.
