North Country National Scenic Trail: Lake Sakakawea State Park

This section of the North Country National Scenic Trail begins at the trail's western terminus and travels south through the state park over hilly and rocky terrain with constant views of Lake Sakakawea. This route is great for birding and opportunities to spot grassland wildlife. The Shoreline Trail offers an alternate route closer to the lake's edge.
