Six-time Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum recording artists The Black Eyed Peas will hold a benefit concert on September 3, 2011, at the North Dakota State Fair Grandstand to assist the victims of the flooding that devastated Minot and surrounding North Dakota communities.
As of Friday, July 15, 2011, access to the east side of Devils Lake will be much easier. A new boat ramp has been constructed by the North Dakota Game & Fish in the Black Tiger Bay area of Devils Lake. The new ramp is located along Highway 20 south, beside the South End R & R campground and is open for public use.
North Dakota Tourism staff will be working at several high-traffic visitor areas in July. On select Fridays, North Dakota Tourism representatives will be at rest areas, visitor centers and gas stations in designated locations to provide traveler assistance, as well as to gather traveler information through a survey.
Summer is sizzling in July, and so are many events unique to North Dakota. Fishing, festivals, and a flying fortress are just a few samples of family-fun ideas. The 2011 North Dakota legislature passed, and Governor Dalrymple signed into law, legislation that should help make it easier, safer and more affordable for rural residents to share the experiences of their farms and ranches with visitors.
A delegation of North Dakota travel and tourism officials promoted North Dakota at key industry events that connect leading international and national tour operators with representatives from travel destinations. Overall, North Dakota travel and tourism representatives garnered a combined total of 300 appointments at these events.
