Chahinkapa Zoo
Chahinkapa Zoo will be receiving two Southern White Rhinos in summer of 2018. Chahinkapa Zoo is committed to its mission of environmental education, wildlife conservation and family recreation. More than 300 animals representing 6 continents and 100 species make the zoo their home. Otters, gibbons, zebras, grizzly bears, spider monkeys, Bengal tigers and kangaroos are just a few of the favorites. Tal, the only orangutan in North Dakota, is waiting to greet you! The Rodger Engstrom Nature Center is a must-see at the zoo. Also visit "Grandpa's Petting Zoo," the heart of Chahinkapa Zoo, which provides a fun hands-on experience for all ages! Come for the day and bring your tent, camper, or rent one of our two camping cabins to spend the evening in our campground near the zoo. Be sure to check out the training sessions for the zoo animals. NEW to the zoo are the behind the scenes events.
