Hike the trails of North Dakota on National Trails Day

June 5th marks the 17th annual National Trails Day in the United States! National Trails Day evolved from the 1987 report of President Ronald Reagan's President's Commission on Americans Outdoors. The report recommended that Americans should be able to walk out their front doors and within 15 minutes, be on trails that take them through their cities or towns and bring them back without retracing any steps.

So grab your friends, a pair of hiking shoes or a bike and hit the beautiful trails of North Dakota today! There are both short and long distance trails in county's all over the state, find one near you at the National Recreation Trail's website  http://bit.ly/ndtrails. Also,  this is a great day to take advantage of events and guided hiking that are being taken place in North Dakota State Parks http://bit.ly/ndguidedtrails.
