The Bismarck Marathon

The Bismarck Marathon returns to North Dakota's capital city for its 43rd edition as ND's longest running marathon, Saturday Sept. 21-Sunday, Sept. 22 at the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds.

The annual event features race distances of:

• Full (26.2 mi.)
• Half (13.1 mi.)
• 10K
• 5K
• Kids race
• BisBark 4K
• Adaptive Race
• And more 

In 2023, the event had over 1,800 runners cross the finish line throughout the three days from all over the country. 43 different states and three different countries were represented in 2023.

The Bismarck Marathon's course is USATF-certified, which makes it the perfect race to qualify for some of running's biggest events like the Boston Marathon. The community-driven event is a 501(c)3 non profit organization and gives back to local charities who support youth, health, and wellness each year. In 2023, the Bismarck Marathon gave back over $55,000 to the community.
