North Dakota keeps popping up at the in 'nation's best' rankings

We all know North Dakota is a great place to live, work and play and we don't mind telling people about it. We’re succeeding in getting the word out and North Dakota continues to show well nationally in rankings of states with great outdoor activities, places to live and things to do.

The National Recreation Economy Report has ranked North Dakota one of the 10 “most outdoorsy” states, based on the percentage of the population of each state that participates in outdoor recreation activities, from camping and trail-related activities to off-roading and snowsports.

Other recent accolades:

Capital City

Bismarck was named WalletHub’s third-best state capital in which to live. It had the lowest crime rate of any state capital.

Powwows

United Tribes International Powwow was named one of the 10 Best Native American Powwows by USA Today

Outdoors

Viewfinder recently named Medora as the best town in North Dakota for nature lovers.
Budget Travel included Theodore Roosevelt National Park in its "Best Budget Destinations in America."

Snowmen

Mom2.0 gave Bismarck and Fargo thumbs up after a recent winter visit, naming them a top winter travel destinations for snowman-building.

Historic Sites

Recreation.gov says Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site at Stanton is one of 10 Unsung National Parks awaiting discovery.
