Tourism Day at the Legislature - sponsored by the Destination Marketing Association of North Dakota and the Tourism Alliance Partnership - is January 12. This is our industry's opportunity to impress upon state lawmakers the importance of tourism to North Dakota's economic well-being. This year's theme is "Tourism Generates Revenue." Tourism-related booths will be open at the state capitol from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Sheri Grossman to reserve booth space. A mid-morning press conference will be held to present new economic impact data on travel to North Dakota in 2015 and to unveil the 2017 travel guide. Lunch will be served to legislators from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a presentation on the new TSA economic impact research by Adam Sacks of Tourism Economics will be held in the Brynhild Haugland Room following the floor session.

Bismarck wowed the region during the annual RMI Real America mid-year meeting. As the lead-up to the Summit and Roundup being held in Bismarck in early May, the four states came together to discuss the year to date and update any plans for the spring. Strategic planning included branding discussions led by Brand USA. The group was blown away by the amount of fantastic restaurants available downtown and all of the “cool” sites as well. Great job of showing yourself off Bismarck!
The Save the Date card for the 2017 North Dakota Travel Industry Conference has gone out. Don't wait to make your hotel reservations and sign up for the conference.
