Hazen

Just minutes from beautiful Lake Sakakawea, coal mines and energy plants, Hazen is a flourishing town in what is known as the “power belt” region of North Dakota. Many power plants and coal mines are within driving distance and tours are available to those who want to see what it takes to keep the lights on. Get the feel for the history of Hazen and Mercer County by visiting the Mercer County Museum just nine miles west of Hazen in the neighboring city of Beulah.

Recreational opportunities are far and wide here. Hazen Bay is located 15 miles north of Hazen and serves as a summer destination with camping, boat docks and access to Lake Sakakawea. Two camping areas are located in Hazen: Lewis and Clark RV Park and Antelope Creek RV Park. Both are close to the four-mile paved walking and biking trails that wind around the city, swimming pool and playgrounds. The Hazen Golf Club is known for its captivating course along the Knife River. Take a Hazen Hometown Hero walk exploring and connecting the many past and present veterans' memorials on display.

D’Andreas and Bee’s Café will satisfy your hunger before heading to Cinema Flix for the latest movie or send you off to nearby Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site at Stanton.
