Motorcycling
North Dakota Tourism/Jason Lindsey
Few things are as exhilarating as hopping onto a big two-wheeler, rolling the throttle and rumbling out onto the prairie. The horizon stretches out endlessly ahead and your cares and concerns are left as little more than a speck disappearing into your rearview mirrors.

There is nothing quite like motorcycling in North Dakota. Great highways dissect 70,000 square miles of rural bliss and take riders effortlessly between the state’s larger cities. You won’t find a lot of things here that you do elsewhere: smog, crime, traffic, headaches. But you will find things here you won’t find anywhere else: the nicest people, the North Dakota Badlands, Pembina Gorge, rolling hills and grasslands and the wide open farmland of the Red River Valley.

Before you head out, visit the accommodations section on this Web site to find a place to rest and have a good meal before hitting the road again.

For a truly legendary adventure, take a two-wheel trip through North Dakota. Contact North Dakota Tourism at 1-800-435-5663 or www.ndtourism.com to receive your free copy of the state motorcycle map, Ride North Dakota. The map details some of the great places to ride and distances between major cities and towns. There also is a segment on off-road riding.

Don’t wait. The ride is on … in North Dakota.
