On September 11, 2001, the world stood still while it watched in horror as the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City crumbled to the ground, claiming the lives of 2,800 innocent souls in its wake. Ten twisted girders rescued from that devastation now rest in the International Peace Garden, a symbol of peace and democracy.
