Crocodile, mammal and bird fossils have been recovered from the Paleocene (about 60 million years old) Sentinel Butte Formation at the Whiskey Creek site in previous years. Excavation continues at this site as well as explorations for other fossil sites in this beautiful, remote area of the western North Dakota Badlands. Participants must be at least 12 years old. When: July 14 through July 20, 2014. Where: Near Medora, Billings County. Daily trips to the fossil site will originate from Medora. Cost: No cost. Lodging, meals and transportation to the fossil site are the responsibility of the participants.
