NDGS Public Fossil Dig: Medora

This dig is co-sponsored by the North Dakota Geological Survey and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. Crocodile, champsosaur (crocodile-like animals), turtle, fish, bird, mammal and other fossils have been excavated from this site in past years. We will continue this excavation this year in the beautiful and rugged Badlands near Medora. When: August 11 through August 17, 2014. Where: Near Medora, Billings County. Daily trips to the fossil site will originate from Medora. Cost: No cost. Participants must be at least 12 years old. Lodging and meals are the responsibility of the participants. Transportation to the fossil site each day from Medora is provided.
