Flea Market & Corn Feed at Buckstop Junction
The little old town that never was, but is today…Celebrates 25 Years!
Events & Entertainment: flea market 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Historic buildings open 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Vintage shoppe open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Silent auction 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for Brittin Grain Elevator moving fund, visitor center. Flag raising 10:45 followed by parade of vintage tractors and autos. Ragtime piano 12:15 p.m. by Mark Learn. Hungry Five–Ompah Band 1 p.m. at the Lewis Hotel.
Refreshments: Coffee and rolls 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Yegen Store. The following are served 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Sarsaparilla, sweet corn on the cob, fry bread by the Buckstop Crew. Brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, cold pop by the Pioneer Auto Club. Kuchen, pulled pork sandwiches on homemade bun, cheese buttons, knoephla, kraut and sausage, pigs in a blanket by Lavonne's Cheese Buttons
Demonstrations and displays: Vintage tractors and autos, woodcarvers, Dakota Spinners at the Beck-Thelen House, blacksmith forge and historic buildings are open with attendants.
Children's activities: barrel rides, old-fashioned games, dig for treasure, magician, shoe kicking contest, ring toss, ping pong ball toss, potato sack race, walk-around magician, kids' crafts at Shenanagins booth, balloon art by Dean "Cuz'n Cal' Cooke all day at the Sterling Depot, face painting, kids' coloring and prizes by "Buttons" 1-3 p.m. Barrel rides around Buckstop Junction.
Admission: $5, age 9 and under free. Gate admission includes entrance to Buckstop Junction, entertainment, demonstrations, displays, tour buildings, children's activities, programs and events. Missouri Valley Historical Society members Free. Food and beverages extra. No smoking, coolers or pets.
