JAMESTOWN TO HOLD
On Saturday, June 28, Jamestown Regional Airport will host North Dakota's only air show for 2008.
Jamestown Air Fest will feature several exciting acts, including simulated fights, stunt flyers, parachutists from Skydive Fargo, the WWII B-17 Bomber "Sentimental Journey" and-of course-a Flying Elvis. The MiG-Fury Fighters perform the world's only simulated Warbird Dogfight, staging an air battle between two Russian MiGs against an F4B Fury Fighter. Stunt flyers Jim Peitz, Warren Pietsch and Jim "Fang" Moroney will provide high-flying acrobatics. Gates will open at 8:00am, with the Air Show beginning at 11:00am.
The Air Fest kicks off eight days of festivities for Jamestown's 125th Anniversary Celebration, June 28-July 6. Ground displays and activities will complement the high-flying festivities. The Air Fest will also feature displays of military and civilian aircraft, a Toy Show & Display, souvenir stands, food court, beer gardens, kids' games and music by the Warped Melon Blues Band.
Advance tickets are available in Jamestown at Dan's Sooper Stop, Hugo's, Stop-N-Go and KSJB/KISS Radio; in Valley City and Carrington at Stop-N-Go stores; in Fargo and Bismarck at Sta-Mart stores; or online at www.flyjamestown.net. Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children.
There will be no parking available at the Jamestown Airport. Attendees are asked to park at the Jamestown Civic Center (212 3rd St. NE) or the Jamestown High School (1509 10th St. NE); buses will transport people to the airport.
In case of rain, the Air Fest will be held on Sunday, June 29.
