TRNP Going to Fall Hours
Theodore Roosevelt National Park went to fall hours on September 2. The South Unit visitor center is open daily 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. MT. The North Unit visitor center is open daily 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. CT. Painted Canyon Visitor Center is open daily 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. MT. Go to the park's website for more information.
RMI Webinar
Rocky Mountain International will be conducting state-specific supplier webinars for each state this fiscal year, starting with North Dakota. After all the states complete the 101 session, there will be a number of topical webinars, which would be available to the entire region. North Dakota's webinar is Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Contact Fred Walker at North Dakota Tourism for more information.
Add 2015 Events to Tourism Website
Notifications have been sent via email to all partners who have previously entered in listings through partner access for the North Dakota Tourism website and travel guide. Event listings that you want to be considered for the 2015 guide must be entered on the Tourism Website by October 3. Stakeholders Meeting Oct. 7
North Dakota Tourism will host its annual marketing update Tuesday, October 7, at the North Dakota Heritage Center on the State Capitol Grounds in Bismarck. The format will be a little different this year and the schedule is still in the planning stages, but plan for 1-4 p.m. Be prepared for a tour of the newly expanded State Museum at the North Dakota Heritage Center and to celebrate our state’s 125th birthday. As always, the meeting will highlight North Dakota Tourism’s 2015 advertising plan, cooperative advertising options and other opportunities for tourism partners to tie into state marketing programs. New Manager at Bonanzaville
Dale Wentland has been hired as the new facilities manage at Bonanzaville in West Fargo.Wentland recently graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College with a degree in liberal arts. Before earning his degree, he ran a small landscaping business for eight years. Bonanzaville is a pioneer village and museum operated by the Cass County Historical Society with a mission to collect, display and interpret artifacts relevant to the history and cultural heritage of the Red River Valley. It is North Dakota’s must-see historical attraction that encompasses 12 acres, 43 historic buildings, and more than 400,000 artifacts. For more information, contact Brenda Warren at 701-282-2822.
New Agritourism Group Formed
North Dakota Tourism Development Manager Dean Ihla recently participated in the creation of the National Agritourism Professionals Association in Indianapolis, Ind. Representatives from 21 states and Canadian provinces passed the organization’s charter and bylaws, discussed leadership and membership requirements and planned for NAPA's 2015 conference.
NAPA will provide industry resources and support to help agritourism businesses work through regulatory and policy challenges. Additionally, NAPA will serve to network state, regional and national opportunities for agritourism professionals and service providers, farmers and farm direct marketers in the promotion of their agritourism activities. It will also assist the development of collaborative education opportunities to promote best practices and marketing trends concerning agritourism. Click here for more information on NAPA.
