ABA Selects Big Iron, Norsk Hostfest Top 100
How does North Dakota Tourism broaden the exposure of ESPN College GameDay? In addition to social media activity on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, North Dakota Tourism did a regional TV buy on ESPN and produced a banner which hung in Downtown Fargo. A videographer was also downtown catching the excitement for a future online video. Producers for he nationwide program returned to Fargo for the second time in two season, making the city one of the few FCS locales to be chosen twice.
North Dakota Tourism is looking to promote some of our favorite experiences, events, festivals and more, and it needs your help. Everyone has a top 5 or top 10 list of things they like to see and do and Tourism would like to hear yours. For example: 10 things to experience at the Norsk Hostfest; 5 reasons to attend Oktoberfest; your top 7 scenic byways. Here are a few examples of what we would love to see:
Hello North Dakota suppliers. You are personally invited by Fred Walker of North Dakota Tourism and the staff a Rocky Mountain International to a North Dakota Supplier Webinar. This one-hour webinar you will teach you more about Rocky Mountain International and how it helps facilitate international tourism marketing for North Dakotam Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming. You will learn more about what wit does and how to get involved. The session is September 24 at 2 p.m. CT. North Dakota Tourism will host its annual marketing update Tuesday, October 7, at the North Dakota Heritage Center on the State Capitol Grounds in Bismarck. The format will be a little different this year and the schedule is still in the planning stages, but plan for 1-4 p.m. Be prepared for a tour of the newly expanded State Museum at the North Dakota Heritage Center and to celebrate our state’s 125th birthday. As always, the meeting will highlight North Dakota Tourism’s 2015 advertising plan, cooperative advertising options and other opportunities for tourism partners to tie into state marketing programs. Notifications have been sent via email to all partners who have previously entered in listings through partner access for the North Dakota Tourism website and travel guide. Event listings that you want to be considered for the 2015 guide must be entered on the Tourism Website by October 3. North Dakota and South Dakota hosted international tour operators and U.S. product managers from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Australia and Switzerland with the goal of attracting additional international visitors. Travel professionals' stops were United Tribes International Powwow, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Fargo Theatre and more.
This is the first time North Dakota has hosted the tour coordinated by Rocky Mountain International (RMI), a four-state marketing group that markets North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming internationally. This familiarization trip was coordinated in partnership with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau, Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau and North Dakota State Parks.
The American Bus Association has aselected Big Iron Farm Show in West FargoS and The Norsk Høstfes in Minot as two of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2015. Current and former events selected include the Medora Musical, Norsk Hostfest, Dickens Village Festival, United Tribes International Powwow, the Fargo Air Show, the North Dakota Rodeo Finals and the Pyrotechnics International Guild.
