North Dakota sites rich in history and scenic wonders

Most travelers have heard of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. They know it has two geographic units (South near Medora; north near Watford City), plus the Elkhorn Ranch site midway between. But that's not the only national park or historic site in North Dakota. Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site near Williston and Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site at Stanton are also important historical areas in the state.
