Light Painter Daniel Kessel

“I’ve been captivated by it from the very start … You can create whatever you imagine with light. Look for an interesting background and then add the light. The scene I choose decides the painting.”

Mixing scenic and historical backgrounds with futuristic light patterns is what fuels Daniel Kessel to stay up into the late hours of the night taking his photographs, even at isolated and abandoned buildings on the North Dakota prairie. Kessel has even incorporated fire into his paintings.
