Travel Updates

Partners Check Listings

Partner Access users, it's that time of year again; time to make sure your attraction and accommodation listing at NDTourism.com is up to date. The Tourism Division is beginning preparation for the 2017 Travel Guide and information pulled from the website will be used in the guide. For that that reason, partners should look at their listings and update the information. The deadline for updating for the travel guide is August 12. Changes to the site can be made after that date, but to guarantee inclusion in the guide, partners should make changes before that date. Accommodations are encouraged to take full advantage of the video. photos and deal sections of the site. The easier it is for travelers to find details, the more likely they are to book a stay.

Partners with events, we do not include the full listing of events in the travel guide. However, it is important that you add and/or update listings periodically as that information is used in marketing and social media promotions. For more information, contact Scooter Pursley at 701-328-2874 or jpursley@nd.gov or Tammy Backhaus at 701-328-2526 or tbackhaus@nd.gov.

Media Discovering What Makes North Dakota 'Legendary'

We continue to welcome media to the state this summer and are excited to share some of the recent coverage that we’ve captured over the past few weeks. Local Adventurer traveled through North Dakota as part of an Airstream Endless Road Trip caravan in late June. At left is a quick capture from its experience. ... Travel writer Cindy Barks toured the state mid-July and shared her travel experiences from a number of parks, attractions and legendary landscapes. Below are a few of the social media posts shared on her journey. Blogs posts and story features coming soon!

Heritage Center Receives Honor

The State Museum at the North Dakota Heritage Center has received the American Association of Museum's 2016 Excellence in Exhibition Award for its Innovations: Early People's Gallery. The 13,000-square-foot exhibition opened in 2014 to rave reviews and was one of three new permanent displays celebrating the history of North Dakota. The exhibition was awarded the AAM 2016 Excellence in Exhibition Competition's distinction of Honorable Mention. The judges were particularly impressed with by the project's excellent outreach to create multi-sensory experiences.
